Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand DLC Short Review

Back to Karkand DLC offers so much! If you played Battlefield 2, this should sound familiar to you. Four new maps taken from Battlefield 2, three new vehicles, ten new weapons, and a great game mode: Conquest Assault!

Four new maps: Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman, Wake Island and Sharqi Peninsula.

Three new vehicles: F35B fighter, BTR-90 APC, and DPV.

The main point in this DLC, are the maps! They offer so much more and you can hide everywhere! They are a remake of the BF2 maps BUT these maps were the most popular in that time! Make no mistake, it has an excellent map design, great environment, and huge destructions!

Review Score: 9/10

Battlefield 3: it takes 100 hours to unlock everything. Per Kit.

DICE has revealed that it is going to take 100 of hours to unlock every weapon and attachment per kit.

Qustion: Why does this take so long to unlock all the weapons, attachments and gadgets for a class?
Answer: Because unlocks in Battlefield 3 are given per weapon basis, where each weapon attachment must be unlocked for a specific weapon. Of course, players will be unlocking the same attachments and gadgets over and over again, for each weapon.

Most weapons will have three slots: one for scope, one for barrel, and one under-barrel slot for grips, bipods, grenade launchers, etc.

This idea is great actually because the more you use a weapon, the more and better accessories you get for it but you know, it might get a bit too repetitive unlocking the same thing again.

They might change a little so we’ll have to wait and see how the system works when the game ships. Or in the upcoming beta.

Battlefield 3 Will Not Allow To Kill Civilians

Battlefield 3 developers, DICE, have announced that this year’s game will not allow gamers to kill civilians.

Actually, Modern Warfare 2 created a lot of controversy due to the inclusion of the “No Russian” level. In this stage of the game, players were given the chance to kill members of the public in an airport.

Battlefield 3 Executive Producer Patrick Bach gave his opinion on the gamers when given moral decisions in games:

“If you put the player in front of a choice where they can do good things or bad things, they will do bad things, go dark side – because people think it’s cool to be naughty, they won’t be caught. In a game where it’s more authentic, when you have a gun in your hand and a child in front of you what would happen? Well the player would probably shoot that child.”

“We would be the ones to be blamed. We have to build our experiences so we don’t put the player in experiences where they can do bad things. Me personally, I’m trying to stay away from civilians in games like Battlefield because I think people will do bad. I don’t want to see videos on the internet where people shoot civilians. That’s something I will sanitise by removing that feature from the game.”
It seems though that DICE want to play it safe and not turn people away from the title due to controversy with the added risk of the title being taken off shelves altogther.
